In band, you can play a solo or ensemble in front of a judge who will then give you some comments and a ranking on the scale:
Bad
Good
Excellent
Superior
Honestly, there may be a fair in there and I doubt there's one called 'bad' but that doesn't really matter right now. Anyway, the pieces you play also have rankings on their level of difficulty from 1 to 7. If you are in high school, and get a superior ranking on a level 5 or higher solo, you are elligible to go to States.
(i played a level 6 this year)
States is basically the same thing, only a higher calliber. You play in front of a judge who gives you a ranking. I'm playing tomorrow at around 10:30, so everyone cross their fingers for me!
yeah, i basically took all that time to ask you to wish me luck..
WISH ME LUCK!
Devious Comments
even though i KNOW you'll get a superior

Temi:why is it legal sized anyway? is there an illegal size?
Me:i dunno, but there are legal pads.
Temi:so are there illegal pads?
Me:i don't think so, unless you count the kind you steal from the store.
~Temi dies laughing~
